Washing
All our Irish linen pieces—both clothing and table linen—can be machine washed. Use a gentle cycle with a mild detergent at a maximum temperature of 30°C. Wash with similar colours and avoid using bleach or fabric softeners, as these can break down the fibres.
Treating Stains
For stains, act quickly. Blot (don’t rub) the area with cold water and a mild soap. For tougher stains, a gentle soak or spot treatment before washing can help. Avoid harsh chemicals, which may damage the linen.
Drying
We recommend air drying your linen by hanging it or laying it flat. Avoid tumble drying, as it can weaken the fibres and cause shrinkage over time. Hanging also helps minimise creasing.
Ironing & Steaming
Linen responds well to both ironing and steaming. For a crisp finish, use a steam iron on a high setting while the fabric is still slightly damp. Alternatively, a handheld steamer works well to remove wrinkles while maintaining a softer, more relaxed look—especially for clothing.
With just a little care, your Irish linen will last for years, gaining character and softness
