Quality Over Quantity
We value quality over quantity, choosing a slower, more intentional approach to making.
We create timeless products from Irish linen and lambswool. From napkins and table runners to shirts and scarves, each piece is made in Ireland and hand-finished in our studio in Dublin 7. We are a small team who are proud to collaborate and partner with exceptional Irish weavers and suppliers. Together, we create everyday items that are designed to last.

Jennifer Slattery’s love of textiles began early in childhood while living in Zambia, where she was surrounded by vivid colour, rich texture, and a strong sense of handmade beauty. Those early years left a lasting impression and sparked a lifelong fascination with how materials can hold memory, meaning, and atmosphere.
Back in Ireland, that curiosity continued to grow, shaped in no small part by her grandmother. Jennifer remembers her beautifully considered way of dressing and her instinct for occasion, especially the way she set a table with care, using treasured pieces passed down through generations. It was there she first understood how everyday objects can carry story and sentiment, and how craft can be a quiet form of expression.
Jennifer went on to study Graphic Design and worked as a graphic designer for a number of years, developing a strong visual language and an eye for composition and detail. But her connection to textiles never left her, eventually leading her back to education to study Embroidery & Textiles at the National College of Art and Design in Dublin (NCAD).
Today, Jennifer’s work brings together all of these influences, her early experiences, her design background, and her enduring love of textiles, texture, and craft, into pieces that are thoughtful, tactile, and deeply rooted in a sense of place and memory.
In 2014, we took on the renovation of a redbrick corner of Benburb Street that had been boarded up. Alongside our neighbour and pal, Jamie Lewis of The Wool Felt Shop, we restored the two shops side by side in a complementary approach that respects their Victorian heritage. Both the shutters and the boards that covered the windows were repurposed into display shelving and today, we have Krass Clement and David Jazay photographs on display that chronicle some of the building’s history. We often welcome in visitors who have fond memories of Martin & Joyce butchers who occupied the building for many years and served Jennifer’s own grandmother, who lived locally.
The studio shop on Benburb Street is both a working space and a place of welcome. It is a small, light-filled room where making and meeting naturally sit side by side, and where customers are always welcome to step inside and experience the work up close.
It is not a separate showroom, but a working studio where collections are developed, pieces are finished, and orders are prepared. This closeness to the process allows visitors to see the work in its most honest and evolving form.

Each product we make begins life on paper. Our embroidery designs always begin as hand-drawn illustrations that are tweaked and coloured before the final design is transferred to a computer. From concept to finished product, steps of the process can be seen in action at our open studio at 72-74 Benburb Street, where we design through sampling. In between our trips around Ireland visiting our trusted partners in Down, Donegal, Wexford and all over Dublin.
Embroidery has always been central to the studio practice. With Jennifer’s background in Embroidery and Textiles, it remains a core part of how pieces are developed, with a focus on texture, detail, and how stitch can transform a surface in a subtle but meaningful way.
We are passionate about natural textiles and responsible sourcing. We are proud of the strong relationships we have forged with the brilliant suppliers and manufacturers that we work hand in hand with. At Jennifer Slattery, we’re always drawn to materials with meaning. Irish linen and Donegal tweed feel like a natural starting point for everything we create - both rooted in Ireland’s textile heritage and loved for their honesty, quality, and timeless character. Design principles
We value quality over quantity, choosing a slower, more intentional approach to making.
Rather than following trends, we focus on creating pieces that remain relevant and wearable for years to come.
Pieces are designed to be mixed, matched, and lived with easily.
By working in small batches and avoiding overproduction, we respect both our materials and the people involved in making them.
